Sportswriter To Stay At Tara Hills In 2014

On Monday, September 9, Tara Hills Stud Farm announced that Sportswriter will continue to stand at stud at their Port Perry, Ont. location through the 2014 breeding season.

One of the most talented pacers in recent history, Sportswriter earned $1.6-million from just 14 lifetime starts in a career cut short by injury. His wins included the North America Cup, Metro Pace, Nassagaweya, Champlain, etc.

Sportswriter’s family continues to be one of the best in racing, as his two-year-old three-quarter-sister, Precocious Beauty, has emerged as one of the leading contenders in her division. The daughter of Art Major is currently 5-2-0 from seven starts and has won her last four straight, including a sweep of the Shes A Great Lady, the Eternal Camnation and
Champlain Stakes.

The eagerly anticipated first crop of Sportswriter will be selling this fall at yearling sales as follows:

Standardbred Canada – 13
Lexington Selected – 20
Harrisburg – 37
Forest City – 18
