Big Step For Online Poker In NJ

On Thursday, February 8 in New Jersey, Governor Chris Christie conditionally vetoed an anticipated piece of online gaming legislation. Although the news sounds like Gov. Christie is against the measure, his veto came so the bill can be tweaked in order to pass in the State Senate in March.

According to a report by pokernews.com, Gov. Christie’s 31-page conditional veto outlines changes that have to be made to the bill before he will sign off on it.

The report has cited Senator Ray Lesniak as saying that the Senate will pass the bill when it meets in March and that intra-state online poker could be up and running in New Jersey as early as this fall.
