Amigo Hall Fillies Shine In Trillium Series

Amigo Hall fillies captured two of three Trillium Series events at Western Fair Raceway on Saturday night, battling their way over a snow soaked surface rated three seconds slower than normal.

Daylon Mystique claimed her fifth win of the season with a 2:07.3 victory in the first $23,378 Trillium split. Starting from Post 5 with Trevor Henry in the race bike, the daughter of Amigo Hall and Daylon Marvel fired out to the front and rang up fractions of :31.2, 1:04.1 and 1:37 on her way to a five length win over Oaklea Rae and Napanee Seelster.

Wayne Henry trains both Daylon Mystique and Napanee Seelster, who were regulars on the Gold Series circuit this season. The Henry Stable of Arthur and Daniel McCann of Parkhill share ownership on Daylon Mystique, who amassed a record of five wins, three seconds and two thirds in 14 starts against the province’s best, banking a total of $177,859.

In the third Trillium division, Friendly Amigo toured the London half-mile in 2:07.3 to earn her first trip to the winner’s circle. Trainer Blair Burgess piloted the daughter of Amigo Hall and Diminutive to the victory for his father Robert Burgess of Campbellville and wife Karin Olsson Burgess of Milton. In six starts the young trotter has earned one win and two thirds for earnings of $36,359.

Magical Debut delivered an impressive effort up the outside to finish one-quarter length behind Friendly Amigo, with Igual Que Tu just a half length back in third.

The other Trillium contest went to American-sired filly Youre Still Theone, who tripped the London teletimer at 2:08 for driver Trevor Henry and trainer Wayne Henry. The Arthur residents share ownership on the SJs Caviar daughter with McCann and Ron and Liz Waples of Guelph.

Saturday’s victory was Youre Still Theone’s second straight win at Western Fair, and her third in as many outings. The youngster kicked off her hot streak with a 2:03.1 win at Flamboro Downs on Oct. 20 and followed it up with a 2:05.3 score at Western Fair on Nov. 11. Through 11 starts the filly has posted three wins, one second and one third for earnings of $34,297.

Bees To Honey and Ldees Creditreport rounded out the top three in the second race.

The two-year-old trotting fillies will match wits in Trillium Series action one more time, on Sunday, Nov. 30 at Windsor Raceway.

Saturday’s soggy festivities wrapped up the 2008 Ontario Sires Stakes season at Western Fair Raceway, which was highlighted by an Ontario Sires Stakes record performance from three-year-old pacing filly Chancey Lady in May, and a track record from two-year-old pacing colt Shipps Xpectancy on the Halloween program.
