Spartacus Loves Doughnuts

It has been announced that 18-year-old warhorse Spartacus L M N will lead the post parade for Saturday's $20,000 Spartacus Claiming Series final at Fraser Downs.

The pacer is temporarily back in trainer Bill Davis' barn preparing for his entry back into the spotlight.

Fan favourite 'Spartacus' was a tough claimer. The son of Wittsends Fiddle and Sky Darling earned purses of over $173,000 during his career. His last win was at Sandown Park in July 2000 and he was officially retired from racing the following March.

He currently lives the life of luxury, and his favourite food, doughnuts, are part of his daily diet.

"He just loves doughnuts and eats them every day," Billy Davis, Jr. said.

Billy Davis, Jr. will take the reins of Spartacus L M N for the post parade.

Spartacus L M N made 180 starts in his career, tallying 53 wins, 35 second-place finishes and 25 thirds. He took his mark of 1:55 over Fraser Downs as a six-year-old.
