.

Bjs Jupiter, driven by Yannick Gingras, made a break from first over around the final turn in the eighth race for $15,000 claimers and began to back through the field. He hooked wheels with the trailing Equinox Seelster along the pylons and unseated his driver Bob DiNozzi, who rolled into the safety lane. Gingras was also dumped from his sulky.

Both Gingras and DiNozzi were up on their feet and walking shortly after with Gingras returning to the sulky in the next race. However, Meadowlands' outrider Debra Andrews was injured while trying to corral the loose horses. Reports from the New Jersey oval indicate that she was treated and taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a cut on the head and possible concussion.

Please join Standardbred Canada in wishing Andrews a speedy recovery.

Comments

Debra, hope the concussion is small, if in fact you got one. Don't rush back, as outriders are a main cog at any race track.

A speedy recovery for this lady, please!!Send her a post on this site so she can read them and will be cheered up and back in action soon.
