Slick Tony Scores In Harrington Open

Nola Leager's Slick Tony scored his 59th career win Monday at Harrington Raceway in 1:51 in the featured $20,000 Open.

The seven-year-old No Spin Zone stallion, who is a two-time Harrington Horse of the Meet, recorded his third win of the meet and sixth of the year with Montrell Teague at the lines.

Sun Of A Show protected rail post position and secured a pocket trip behind leader Penzance Hanover, the 8-5 second choice, who led through fractions of :27.2 and :55.4 while Slick Tony and Carlisimo headed the outer flow through three-quarters in 1:23.4.

Slick Tony edged clear and opened up on the field on the final turn as Penzance Hanover tired. Carlisimo closed for second with Keep On Rocking A third. Slick Tony has banked more than $950,000 in his career.  He paid $3.60 to win.

Teague had a driving triple on the card. Tony Morgan and Art Stafford Jr. each had two wins.
