Senior Drupal Developer, (Mississauga, ON)

Standardbred Canada is looking for an experienced web developer who has full knowledge of Drupal. The candidate will have exceptional programming skills, problem-solving abilities and a strong work ethic. This is a permanent salaried position, reporting to the Information Technology Manager and based at our head office in Mississauga.

Responsibilities:

• Working with a team to create compelling websites and web applications
• Turning design and user interface into functional websites
• Custom programming and web application development
• Documenting, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing and new sites
• Contributing ideas and efforts toward projects and working as part of a team to find solutions
• Mentor other developers
• Other development and IT support assignments

Education:

• University degree in computer science or information systems preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and experience

Required Skills:

• Minimum two years of direct work experience using Drupal, PHP, MySQL, Apache on a Linux environment
• Proficient in Drupal, including custom module development, key contributed modules, theming and the core API
• Strong knowledge of web development platforms and languages such as, but not limited to, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX
• Independence, willingness to learn and problem solving skills
• Ability to handle a fast paced work environment, deadlines and new challenges
• Ability to communicate and work well with others

Additional Assets:

• Experience enhancing the performance of high-traffic sites
• Enthusiasm for and knowledge of PC hardware, Linux and Apache
• Strong desire and willingness to communicate and educate your colleagues in the use of web development technologies
• Experience in Linux administration
• Experience integrating free software and third party applications into existing systems
• Strong knowledge of browser compatibility problems for all platforms and major browser types
