San Pail Joins Fan Club

The 'I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club' has announced that San Pail has joined its 'Faces of Racing' stable

.

The national champion and millionaire trotter will be honoured at the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club kiosk on Saturday, July 23 at Mohawk Racetrack -- that’s the night he’ll attempt to make harness racing history and win his third consecutive Maple Leaf Trot title, becoming only the second trotter to accomplish the feat. Grampa Jim captured the MLT for trainer Robert Farrington in 1969, 1970 and 1971.

Fan Club members will have the chance to enter draws to win Fan Club swag and San Pail photos. And the Fan Club Team will be giving out free San Pail buttons to wear that night to show support for the talented trotter.

To date this year, the seven-year-old son of San Pellegrino has won seven of nine starts for owner-breeder Glenn Van Camp of Port Perry, Ont. and owner-trainer Rod Hughes of Dunsford, Ont. Recognized as Canada’s top older trotting horse in 2009 and 2010, San Pail has banked over $218,000 this season and is knocking on the door of $2 million lifetime.

San Pail raced this past Saturday (July 16) in a prep for the Maple Leaf Trot. He finished second in the 1:52.2 mile and has drawn Post 9 (purple saddlepad) for this Saturday's MLT. San Pail fans are encouraged to wear purple on Saturday to show their support for San Pail.
