This is sad news. Walter meant a lot to me and my family as a kid growing up. I have a huge appreciation for horse racing still to this day because of Walter. I'll never forget the time spent at the track or on the ranch. Bob, if you are reading this we would really like to hear from you. [email protected]

I have known Walter and Bob ever since helping to rescue horses when Lake Hodges Dam overflowed, flooding the Del Mar Racetrack, where they were training. I have wonderful memories of visiting them at both Hemet and Santa Ynez. Walter was a very special person, and will always have a place in my heart. Rest in peace, Walter. Take care Bob. With love, Debbie Vaughan (and Emily)

One of the best times we've had in the horse business recently when we were stabled next to Bob and Walter. Wish we had the chance to say good-bye to Walter, he was a lovely person. All the best to you Bob. Stan & Pat

I had the pleasure of spending some time with Walter over the last 5 years, and he was second to none! Truly an outstanding person who will be sadly missed. The industry has lost a very good man. RIP Walter:(

May you rest in peace Walter, I am so sorry for the family especially Bob. Walter was a stand up and great guy.
