Winbak Announces 2011 Select Sale

Winbak Farm has announced the details of its seventh annual Winbak Select Sale, which will be held on

September 16. The sale will consist of roughly 50 of Winbak Farm’s finest pacing and trotting yearlings which will be heading to auction in 2011.

Stallions represented in the sale lineup include Rustler Hanover, Quik Pulse Mindale, CR Commando, Political Briefing, Roddys Bags Again, Shotgun Scott, and Three Wizzards. All but the individuals sired by Quik Pulse Mindale will be eligible to the $3 million DSBF program. Quik Pulse Mindale stands in Pennsylvania and his offspring will be eligible to the $10 million PASS program.

CR Commando has sired 41 of the last 52 DSBF champions. He was also the leading Delaware trotting sire of 2010, according to USTA statistics. His average earning per starter in 2010 was $52,000. There will be approximately 12 of his offspring to hit the auction block at Winbak Select Sale. Leading the pack are Command Flight, a full-brother to Neverenough Rusty $133,519, and Security Breach, a half-brother of Desert Sunrise, earner of $122,180 and winner of 23 races. Also offered is Solo Command, a full-brother to Man of Science, 4,1:57.4f and the earner of $176,710.

Rustler Hanover has 11 offspring that are heading to the Winbak Select Sale. Some of his standouts include: Blush With Pride, a half-sister to two-year-old and three-year-old DSBF champion Badlands Jenna. Another Rustler Hanover standout is Beammeupscottie, the son of $502,810 earner and 1992 OJC Three-Year Old Pacing Filly of the Year Hop Irish, who is the dam of four winners including two in 1:53. Another yearling to take note of is Ms Jen, a daughter of Gennifers Flower (p,2,1:56.2)-who is the dam of five winners out of six foals. Old Fashioned, who is a half-sister to Hasty Pulse (p,2,1:53.2, $183,900) will also be featured.

Quik Pulse Mindale will be represented at the sale by some fine individuals, including Check Pulse, a half-brother to Dyslexic ($88,376), Fast Pulse, from Myriad (the dam of eight winners), and Ms Cape Coral, who’s second dam is Sanabelle Island, earner of $1,641,527.

Leading the way for Political Briefing-sired individuals heading to the sale is Fast Briefing, a half-brother to Rookie Mistake, who has a lifetime mark of T,4,1:53.2 and earnings of $258,121.

Two offspring by Roddys Bags Again will be offered for sale. Quik Rod is a first foal of Quick Question who is a half-sister to The Deputy is Home ($252,514), My Roomie ($201,545), Friday Nite Lights ($154,066), and Run The Ball ($105,642). The second offspring to be offered is Girlfriend Bash, the daughter of A JS Big Girl, who had a lifetime mark of p,1;54.3f and earned $97,856. A JS Big Girl is the dam of Roger J (Village Jove) who has 11 lifetime wins and earned $50,221 while taking a lifetime mark of 1:54.4.

Giant Hit’s standouts include Moonlight Casanova. The yearling’s dam is Bonfire Hanover who is also the dam of three winners including First Captain (CR Commando) who is now three with seven lifetime wins and $74,000 earned. The colt is a full brother to More Fire who earned $107,421 and has 13 lifetime wins, which included the Preferred at Yonkers as an aged horse.

There will be two offspring sired by Shotgun Scott to go in the sale ring, including Skyloft, a son of Marathon Miss who is the producer of two winners from three foals. The other offspring is US Ranger, a son of Roxys Girl who earned $135,980 while racing.

The lone Three Wizzards offspring to be offered at the Winbak Select Sale is Three Men, who’s dam, Bruces Other Lady, is the producer of 12 winners from 14 foals. Bruces Other Lady’s offspring include Kid Cool, who earned $347,282 while racing.
