Spence Nabs Training Triple

Trainer Brenda Spence had her troops on their toes – or in this case, hooves – as noted in a three-win performance at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday evening

.

Spence, who recruited teamster Todd Warren to do the sulky sitting, watched Eden Rock get the ball rolling with a 2:00.3 triumph in Race 2. L M Elika clicked in Race 7 for the Spence/Warren duo, but it took some ORC intervention to give the mare the win. Just A Bee crossed the line first in that tilt, but was placed eighth for causing interference while off stride shortly after the start. Mythic Voyage went to the top and didn’t stop en route to winning in 1:56.4, thus giving Spence her third score on the 15-race card.

Spence currently holds down a share of sixth place in Rideau’s trainers’ standings thanks to her 13-win season.

Warren finished the card with a four-win performance thanks in part to a score in Race 4 with Clay Gram – a pacer he owns and trains.
