Real Bond Romps In EPR Feature

Real Bond went wire-to-wire to win the featured $1,600 Winners Over Pace on Saturday afternoon at Exhibition Park Raceway and in doing so he notched his third consecutive victory since returning to the east coast from Ontario in late October

.

Leaving from Post 2, Real Bond and driver Robert Laffin took control and dominated the field, which was reduced to four after Perfect Trick was scratched sick. Real Bond was untested as he led the way past fractions of :31, 1:02.3 and 1:33.3 en route to a six length score in 2:04.4 over a sloppy track rated seven seconds off. Grace And Harv (Gilles Barrieau) finished second over pocket-sitter Magnetic Benka (Gord Hennessey).

Real Bond has now won seven times this season in 20 starts and has earned $6,839 in 2010. The five-year-old gelded son of Real Desire-Hornby Heart is trained by Sifroi Melanson for the Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B.

EPR’s leading driver Gilles Barrieau, who won six races last Saturday, reined home five winners during today’s 12-race card while Michael Morris scored a perfect training triple.
