After finishing second in her 2010 debut last week in Woodbine Racetrack’s $38,000 Fillies & Mares Open, Canada’s 2009 Older Pacing Mare of the Year, Dreamfair Eternal, returned to her winning ways with a front-end score in Friday night's feature

.

With Randy Waples at the lines, Dreamfair Eternal advanced to the lead from Post 5 during a :26.4 first quarter put up by last week’s winner Arts Diva (Mike Saftic). Once she settled on top she went unchallenged through middle fractions of :54.4 and 1:23.3 before coasting under the wire in 1:52. Arts Diva finished one length behind with Voelz Hanover (Mario Baillargeon) another five lengths back in third.

Dreamfair Eternal paid $3.00 to win as the 1-2 favourite. Pat Fletcher trains the six-year-old daughter of Camluck-J Cs Nathalie for John Lamers of Ingersoll, ON. Last season, Dreamfair Eternal won 14 of her 31 races, including the Roses Are Red Stakes Final, and earned $622,420. Her 30th career win tonight leaves her just over $5,000 shy of the $800,000 earnings mark.

In other action, 2009 O’Brien Award nominee Text Me, trained by Bob McIntosh, made a successful seasonal debut in a $20,000 three-year-old conditioned trot. The Kadabra-Dial Nile colt left from Post 5 with Bill O’Donnell, and set the pace with fractions of :28.4, :57.4 and 1:26.2 en route to victory in 1:55.3 by a nose over the pocket-sitting Look Closer (Keith Oliver). The 5-2 second choice returned $7.30 to win.

Text Me concluded his two-year-old campaign with a victory in the OSS Super Final. He put together a record of 3-7-2 in 13 starts earning $377,126 for Robert McIntosh Stables Inc. of Windsor, ON, C S X Stables of Liberty Center, Ohio, and Dave Boyle of Bowmanville, ON.
