OR Releases 2020 Program Criteria Books

On Wednesday, August 26, Ontario Racing announced the release of the 2020 program criteria books for the Standardbred (SIP) and Thoroughbred Improvement Programs (TIP), and the Quarter Horse Racing Industry Development Program (QHRIDP).

The criteria books provide in-depth information and the rules surrounding the various program components. The books, available online at ontarioracing.com/member-information/breeds, offer specific details about the suite of world-class stakes supplements, purse enhancements and breed program awards for Ontario-bred and Ontario-sired horses across all three breeds, worth approximately $37.7 million (full-year budget) for the 2020 racing season.

“These comprehensive criteria books are an invaluable resource for Ontario horsepeople,” said Ontario Racing Management Executive Director Jonathan Zammit. “It is important that those intending to participate in these programs familiarize themselves with the program criteria outlined in these guides, as some of the participation requirements and program distribution amounts may have changed.”

The Standardbred, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse criteria books are updated annually by Ontario Racing to inform program participants of requirements that must be met in order to receive program benefits.
