Tiz To Dream Cruises In Bud Light

Two-year-old pacing filly Tiz To Dream glided effortlessly from gate-to-wire to capture the $103,259 Bud Light Stakes tonight at Flamboro Downs

.

Coming off a third place finish in the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final, Tiz To Dream and driver Doug McNair left from the inside post position and moved around early leaver Racy Gal Hanover (J.R. Plante) to reach the first quarter in :27.2. The 1-5 favourite then rolled through the remaining fractions of :56.3 and 1:25.4 en route to a two and three-quarter length score in 1:54.2.

Racy Gal Hanover followed for second while Ticket To Rock (Paul MacKenzie) advanced first-up to get third.

The winning daughter of Grinfromeartoear-Extreme Dream is trained and co-owned by Gregg McNair along with Paul Kidd of Guelph, Ont. Her sixth win in 16 starts this year lifted her bankroll to over $313,000.

Before the stakes action took place, an accident in the card’s opener caused quite a scare for Doug McNair and resulted in Billy Davis, Jr. booking off his remaining drives.

A rough-gaited Scampi Freeluck (Doug McNair), who was racing in second, nearly fell scattering the field and causing Billy Davis, Jr. to be tossed from his mount, Tr Meadow Blossom, past the three-quarters mark.

Reports indicate Davis, Jr. escaped serious injury but he did take the rest of the night off.

Scampi Freeluck went on to finish fourth but was placed seventh and disqualified for causing interference while offstride.
