Two Upcoming WHHC Qualifiers

Officials with the Meadowlands Racetrack would like to remind its fans that this coming weekend there will be two ways to qualify for the 2020 World Harness Handicapping Championship.

Fans can get in on the qualifying action this Friday (Jan. 10) in the free Meadowlands Winter Survival Challenge, powered by 123Racing. The challenge will run through March 28 with $1,300 seats into the 2020 World Harness Handicapping Championship, presented by derbywars.com, awarded to the top three finishers in addition to cash prizes.

In the challenge, players must place a $2 WPS wager on one horse in each of the three designated races each night. The winner is determined by the highest total bankroll at the end of the challenge. However, to continue in the game, entrants have to ‘survive’ by finishing in-the-money (first through third) with at least one of their selections each day. Failing to do so or not making selections knocks the player out of the game.

Players can register for the Survival Challenge at survival-challenge.com. Players must register and have their first night selections in by 6:45 p.m. on Friday.

Then, on Saturday (Jan. 11), the Meadowlands will host its first WHHC qualifier of the new year. Four spots will be up for grabs in the $400 qualifier ($200 entry plus a $200 real-money bankroll). The format requires players to make $20 Win/Place/Show or combo WPS bets on at least 10 Meadowlands races of their choice. Players can wager more than $20 a race if they desire.

DerbyWars hosts online Qualifiers for the WHHC every Saturday night. Players can qualify for as little as $22. Complete DerbyWars qualifier information can be found at derbywars.com.
