This past year created many great memories in Canadian harness racing. What was your favourite Canadian harness racing memory from 2017?

The year 2017 was the 250th anniversary of Canadian Horse Racing. It was filled with special events, major stakes races, and much more. It featured unforgettable victories by our superstar horses, many career milestones by our champion horsepeople, and some extraordinary track records.

The world came to Canada as Standardbred Canada hosted the 2017 World Trotting Conference and World Driving Championship, and to top the year off, Canadian harness racing driver James MacDonald of Guelph, Ont. captured the 2017 World Driving Champion title.

What was your favourite Canadian harness racing memory from 2017? Did you celebrate an exciting victory, milestone, purchase your first horse, or celebrate the birth of your first foal? Did you meet your favourite driver or attend a major stakes race or special event? If so, the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club wants to know about it!

Share your 2017 memory with the fan club by emailing a photo of your memory with a short story (200 words or less) to [email protected] or send it in a private message to the Standardbred Canada Facebook page.

So what are you waiting for? Submit your photo and story now for a chance of winning a $50 gift card to the Canadian harness racetrack of your choice and a special Fan Club prize package.

The contest will close on Friday, January 19 at 5:00 p.m. (EST).
