Last year’s O’Brien Award winner as Canada’s Trainer of the Year got the ball rolling with Lucky Herb, who wired up his foes for driver Brad Forward in 1:56.3. Roberto was second and Azoreansailor rounded out the top three.

The homebred son of Camluck-Coriander Hanover, who is owned by the Robert McIntosh Stables Inc, C S X Stables and Dave Boyle, won for the first time this season and for the fourth time in his career. He has stashed away more than $58,000 to date.

Layton Seelster gave McIntosh and Forward a round trip to the winner’s circle thanks to his tally in the next division. The son of Western Maverick-Daylon Luxury used down-the-road tactics to post the 1:55.2 victory over Sterling Chris and A Regular Terror.

Unraced as a rookie, the gelding won for the fourth time this season for the partnership of Dwight Stacey of Mitchell and the Robert McIntosh Stables Inc. of Windsor, ON. The gelding is now three-for-three in the OSS Grassroots program this season, and the lion’s share of the purse boosted his earnings to $49,585.

The white hot trainer/driver duo capped off the OSS three-bagger with Panjour Monsieur, who made a three-wide move at the three-quarter pole and blasted to the top en route to posting a five-length victory in 1:58. Montanez was second best and King Pete grabbed the show dough in the $24,000 affair.

The homebred son of No Pan Intended-French Panicure now owns a 2-0-1 record in six starts this season for Peter Pan Stables Inc. of Pepper Pike, OH. The four-time winner bumped his lifetime earnings to $45,890 with the score.

The other divisional winners on Sunday were Tommy Tiger (1:56), Uncle Bill Mac (1:56.1), The Ladies Man (1:56.4), Eh (1:58.3), Alexie Mattosie (1:58) and Vals Fortune (1:57.3).
