Powering to the front moving into the final turn, odds-on favourite Il Sogno Dream held control over a late challenge from Odds On Amethyst to win the $34,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday, November 11, trotting a track-record mile of 1:51.2.

Sitting third off a :26.1 clip set by Major Athens clearing command from Big Rich, Il Sogno Dream angled wide approaching the half, timed in :55, carrying Odds On Amethyst on his back. Clearing control rolling around the turn, Il Sogno Dream maintained a three-quarter length advantage over Odds On Amethyst through the stretch and at the line, with Catch The Dream, riding cover, chasing in third.

A six-year-old horse by Cantab Hall out of the Fill V mare Le Reve, Il Sogno Dream, owned by Bill and Dan Manes and Leonard and Randy Christopher, won his sixth race in 20 starts this season and his 25th in 90 overall. Conditioned by Victor Puddy and driven by Jonathan Drury, the $3.20 winner has earned $1,102,134.

The mile time eclipsed the older trotting horse mark set by Daylon Magician in May 2012. Mr Muscleman holds the overall older trotting mark with his 1:51.1 mark from 2005.

Ms Mac N Cheese won the $30,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace off a pocket trip in 1:52.1.

Leading narrowly to the inside of favourite Witch Dali through a :27.2 opening quarter, Ms Mac N Cheese obtained the pocket while her stable mate cut splits of :56 and 1:24.3 under minimal pressure. Into the stretch, Ms Mac N Cheese cut into Witch Dali's two-length lead, edging to a three-quarter lengths victory over the 9-5 choice, with Lyons River Pride sweeping from off cover to finish third.

Trained by Richard Moreau for the Ratchford Stable of Nova Scotia, Ms Mac N Cheese, a five-year-old mare by Badlands Hanover out of the Artiscape mare Mr Delis Filly, won her fifth race in 24 starts this season and her 22nd in 90 starts overall, earning $670,592. Driven by Louis Philippe-Roy, she paid $13.70 to win.

Odds-on favourite Easy Lover Hanover rallied from second over to win the $34,000 Preferred Pace in 1:49.3.

Positioned fourth, Easy Lover Hanover was seven lengths off pacesetter Fool Me Once, posting a :26 quarter before yielding the lead to Evenin Of Pleasure past the half, timed in :54.2. Nirvana Seelster, racing third, tipped wide as Easy Lover Hanover gained ground to pick up cover heading to three-quarters in 1:22.2, soon moving three wide and pacing past duelers Evenin Of Pleasure and Nirvana Seelster as they faded from the competition. Ellis Park, from third over, swept into second, while Fine Diamond shot through the inside for third.

Owned by Brad Grant, Easy Lover Hanover, a four-year-old gelding by Somebeachsomewhere out of the Pro Bono Best mare Easy Go Go, won his fifth race in 20 starts this season and his 21st in 53 starts overall, surpassing the $500,000 earnings plateau. Trained by Ben Wallace and driven by Doug McNair, he paid $3.10 to win.

Along with Ms Mac N Cheese, trainer Richard Moreau conditions two other winners on the ten-race program, winning with pocket-rider Mr Censi ($13.70) in 1:50.3 and Mach Deja Vu ($7.90), another pocket rider, in 1:49.3.
