William ‘Bill’ Taylor Passes

Trot Insider has learned that Standardbred breeder/owner William P. Taylor of Edson, Alberta passed away on Monday, September 11 at the age of 85.

Bill is survived by his children Richard Taylor of Edson, Gwen Shaw of Edmonton, Thomas Taylor of Sherwood Park, Jean (Doug) Petersen of Edson, Jeff (Michelle) Taylor of Sherwood Park and Wendy (Dave) Lindop also of Sherwood Park. Grandchildren; Lance (Jennifer), Candace (Blair), Amanda (Sal), Cole (Sirrea), Jennifer (Curtis), Danielle (Luke), Justin (Nicole), Nathan (Chelsey) and Christopher (Leah); 23 great-grandchildren and by two great-great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his sisters Jessie Wrobel and Bettie Sloan as well as many other relatives and dear friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jean on June 21, 2004, older sister Phillis Hofferd and by his daughter-in-law Judy.

Funeral Mass was held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Edson, Alberta on Saturday, September 16 with Father Varghese Munduvelil as Celebrant.

As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Bill, memorial contributions may be made to the Robin Hood Association – 141 Broadway Blvd. Sherwood Park, Alberta T8H 2A4.
