Jordan Blue Chip Sharp In Debut

An eye-catching youngster by the name of Jordan Blue Chip conducted herself in a professional manner Monday evening at Mohawk Racetrack, and as a result she came away victorious in her pari-mutuel debut.

Jordan Blue Chip got away fourth for driver Paul MacDonell while Shamrock Shaker and Kadabra Queen took turns on the lead through fractions of :28.4, 1:00 and 1:29.4. MacDonell angled his charge off the rail going into the final turn and caught the cover of Zorgwijk Sophia. Jordan Blue Chip kicked off that cover in the lane and used a :28-second closing quarter to win by a length over Kadabra Queen in 1:58.2. Fly Fly Selena was third.

Sent off at odds of 7-1, the Mike Keeling-trained two-year-old daughter of Chapter Seven earned back $7,000 of her $70,000 price tag from last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale. Dreamville Stable of Cambridge, Ont. owns the first foal out of Ill Bring Dessert. She’s a Chocolatier sister to the O.S.S. graduate, Laddie (1:54 - $1,029,920).
