On Monday, June 5 at Mohawk Racetrack, WEG’s publicity department, OSAS and driver Jody Jamison were busy showing members of Global Toronto’s ‘The Morning Show’ what racing at the Campbellville, Ont. is all about, as the raceway gears up for the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup.

The NA Cup will spearhead a tremendous card of live Standardbred racing on June 17. North America Cup eliminations will take place this coming Saturday (June 10). The elims will be drawn on Tuesday (June 5).

“Liem Vu (co-host of The Morning Show) was out here (at Mohawk) this morning,” WEG communications co-ordinator Mark McKelvie told Trot Insider. “He shot a feature on racing at Mohawk and had the opportunity to jog an OSAS horse with Jody Jamieson. He also got to learn a bit about what goes on at Mohawk and got to see how drivers prepare each night.”

The horse that Liem and Jamieson jogged with was the 13-year-old grey gelding Ruff Me Up. The promotional work came less than 24 hours after Jamieson was helping promote racing in Quebec.

McKelvie explained to Trot Insider that the feature is scheduled to air on June 15 and will be shown on The Morning Show on Global Toronto.

The feature will help promote the NA Cup and Mohawk racing, which will occur five nights a week all summer at the picturesque raceway.
