Standardbred Canada and Forest City Sales are pleased to announce the Ontario Sires Stakes will sponsor the “Win A Share in A Racehorse” contest in conjunction with the London Selected Yearling Sale on October 14 and 15. The contest winner will receive a share ($2,000 value) in a LandMark 11 Stable Ontario-sired horse.
Prospective owners who attend Mohawk’s New Owners Seminar on September 23 or the New Owners Seminar at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on October 6 will have the opportunity to enter.* Ballots will also be available to prospective owners at the London Selected Yearling Sale all day Saturday and on Sunday until 2:00 p.m.* The draw will be made after the sale and the winner will be notified on Monday, October 16.
“We are pleased to be involved in the London Selected Yearling Sale and this is a great way to introduce someone to the thrill of racehorse ownership,“ said Jackie Warner, Promotions Coordinator for Ontario Sires Stakes. “The winner will have an opportunity to enjoy all stages of the horse’s journey from the auction sale to the racetrack, and hopefully, the winner’s circle!”
LandMark 11 is a ‘fractional ownership’ group stable that provides an opportunity for people to own multiple Standardbred racehorses for a modest investment, with shares at $2,000. LandMark 11 will purchase a percentage of several yearlings at this year’s sales, which will be selected, trained and raced by Ontario-based trainer Mark Steacy. Shareholders will receive no bills for the first 12 months.
The London Selected Yearling Sale, presented by Standardbred Canada and Forest City Sales, takes place on October 14 and 15 at the Metroland Media Agriplex at the Western Fair District in London, Ontario.
Ontario Racing serves as the Program Administrator for the Standardbred Improvement Program (SIP), which includes the Ontario Sires Stakes Program.
