Ready Cash Passes

Influential French trotting stallion Ready Cash, a two-time d'Amérique champion, has passed away at the age of 18.

Haras de Bouttemont, home of the stallion, reported on Wednesday, Aug. 9 that Ready Cash succumbed to colic overnight despite all the efforts made to save him.

Trained by owner Philippe Allaire and Thierry Duvaldestin during his racing career, Ready Cash won 40 of 70 races lifetime earning €4,282,300 / C$6,315,285. He was the richest French trotter in history at the time of his retirement. The son of Indy De Vive-Kidea won the prestigious Prix d'Amérique in 2011 and 2012 and was also a two-time winner of the Group I Prix De France and champion of the Prix de Paris along with numerous other graded stakes.

A standout stallion that transformed the French trotting breed, his offspring include Prix d'Amérique champions Bold Eagle, Face Time Bourbon and Readly Express. For the past seven years, Ready Cash topped the sire list in France for winning offspring.
