The Woodbine Entertainment Group and Sudbury Downs have forged an agreement to make HorsePlayer Interactive (HPI), WEG's online account-wagering platform, available to horse racing fans in the Kenora, Rainy River and

Thunder Bay Districts, in Northwestern Ontario.

"We're delighted to offer our online betting and phone service to the thousands of racing fans in Northwestern Ontario," said WEG Wagering Operations Director Greg Martin. "We appreciate the efforts of the Sudbury Downs organization in developing this three-year deal. We look forward to serving the area's fans."

HPI customers can watch and legally wager on over 150 harness and thoroughbred tracks across the world online. HPI is accessible at horseplayerinteractive.com, Canada's first and only legal pari-mutuel online account wagering service.

Bill Bojeski: I Have To Agree With Randy. HPI Only Lets Us Bet On What They Want Us To Bet On And That Is There Product And The American Products. Sudbury Could Have 5 Races Of Oss And Me As An Owner Would Have To Drive To Sudbury To Watch My Horse Race And Even To Place A Wager. Until We Can Watch And Wager On Or Own Canadian Product Our Sport Will Be In Trouble. Just Look At The Canadian Tracks We Cannot Bet On And Watch. Sarnia, Woodstock, Sudbury, And The Odd Time To Watch Flamboro.

Of course - this could only happen in the Sudbury Downs market. Notice HPI is only available to a small portion of their home market - EXCLUDING Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie , North Bay ... etc. etc.
I would have thought that the ORC would have forced them to provide Account Wagering to the entire Home Market Area or NOT AT ALL !!!
Once again , the rest of Northern Ontario are treated like second class horse players.
We were all so hopeful that the CMPA Framework Review would have resolved this months ago. Sadly its still bogged down in government red tape and appears to be going no where.
