Are you a Standardbred horse lover that was in Grades 5 to 8 in the last school year? Do you like to take photos or videos? The Bill Galvin Racing Alliance has two contests for you that will give you the chance to win prize money and more!
The Bill Galvin Racing Alliance’s (BGRA) Youth Photo Derby and Youth Video Derby deadlines are fast approaching. The deadline for submissions is Aug. 31, 2023.
Winners in each contest will receive $250, second prize will be $150 and third place will take home $100. Both contests are open to Ontario students in Grades 5 to 8 as of June 1, 2023.
The theme for these contests is anything and everything to do with Standardbred horses. Sponsorship for the prize money is thanks to the generosity of distinguished owner and breeder Tom Rankin, who has also extended his support to the Youth Literary Derby and the Youth Art Derby.
Winners in the contests will also receive complimentary registration for online Horse Behavior and Safety courses courtesy of Equine Guelph. There are no junior and senior divisions in these contests.
