The Standardbred Horse Sales Company has announced that its 2016 annual sale at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg will change from its previously announced format.
Three yearling-sale days will be held on Monday, November 7 through Wednesday, November 9. The mixed sale will be held on Thursday, November 10 and Friday, November 11.
The change is necessary because of conflicts with the $1.2M TVG Finals at the Meadowlands Racetrack and the eliminations for multiple two-year-old stakes at Woodbine Racetrack that weekend, and because of a reduction in sale entries as a result of overall contraction of the breeding industry.
The SHSC expects to catalogue approximately 900 top-quality yearlings for the yearling sale in 2016.
