A tight-knit field of seven pacers will contest the Sunday afternoon top class at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway, including a former Maritime Champion.

The Sunday card has a 1:00 P.M. start time at the Prince County half-miler and Confident Fella is labeled the one to beat fresh off a 1:57 victory last week. Marc Campbell is back in the racebike Sunday afternoon from post 2 in the race 9 $2,100 feature for trainer Ralph Sweet and owner David and John Sweet. The six-year-old son of Artistic Fella has yet to miss the top three while racing in Western P.E.I., since relocating from the Ontario circuit.

Heart And Soul, a Maritime Champion three-year-old in 2016, has post 5 in the event for trainer-driver Walter Cheverie and owner Riley Farms Ltd. The Western Paradise-Mighty Sassy pacer was a victor in 1:58.2 his last time behind the gate for his connections, while Mando Fun (Kenny Arsenault) leaves from post 4 after winning in 1:56.4 last Sunday.

Other top class entries include Pictonian Storm (Austin Sorrie), Allstar Seelster (Norris Rogers), Machinthesand (Ken Murphy) and Ultimatelyhandsome (Jason Hughes).

Race 7 has a trio of pacers just wetting their hooves to Island racing. Lincoln Blues made his P.E.I. debut last week and gets rail control on Sunday for trainer-driver Cheverie and owner Ivan MacMillan of O’Leary. The six-year-old son of Jeremes Jet was racing on the Ontario circuit where he was a winner in 1:57 in Rideau Carleton Raceway outside of Ottawa in 2017.

Wilson Frost has post 3 in the $1,500 class after winning his P.E.I. debut last week for trainer Duane MacEachern. Chris Davies is in the racebike this week, and the Saint John reinsman is also a co-owner of the grey with Michael Folkins of Saint John and Carole Wright and Jill Thompson, both of Fredericton. One Tough Nerd makes his maiden start on red soil, garnering post 7 for trainer Kathleen Charlton and owner Clarkie Smith of Oyster Bed Bridge. Ken Murphy will drive the winner of over $36,000 as he ships in from racing at The Raceway at Western Fair District in London, Ont.
