The Hambletonian Society would like to remind horsepeople that stakes payments are due by Monday, May 15, which must be postmarked by midnight of Tuesday, May 16.
The forms are always available on the Hambletonian Society website and by calling the Society's office for fax and email options. All the forms on the website are PDF fillable. Just type right in the form, print as many as you need and return the form with your payments.
Along with cheques, the Society accepts credit cards as a form of payment for any stakes payments. All credit card payments are subject to a three per cent service fee, which will be added to the payment total.
In May, sustaining payments are due for a majority of the two-year-old races administered by the Hambletonian Society. As a reminder, the Madison County (which changed formats to a two-year-old colt trot only race in 2021) has a $500 payment due this month to remain eligible.
Yearling payments are also due this May for all foals of 2022. Below are the races which have a payment due this May (broken down by division):
- Yearlings Pacers: Adios, Arden Downs, Breeders Crown #38, Cane Pace, Fox Stake, Horseman, Hoosier Stake, Messenger Stakes, Progress Pace
- Yearlings Trotters: Arden Downs, Breeders Crown #38, Currier & Ives, Dexter Cup, Hambletonian, Hoosier Stake, Horseman, Ralph Wilfong and Yonkers Trot
- Two-Year-Olds: Breeders Crown #37, The Elevation, Fox Stake #97, Hoosier Stake #87, Jim Doherty Memorial, Kentuckiana Stallion Management Pace/Trot, Keystone Classic, Landmark, Liberty Bell, Madison County 2CT, Matron Series, PA All-Stars, Peter Haughton Memorial, Reynolds Memorial, Simpson Memorial, Tompkins-Geers, and Ralph Wilfong #86
As a reminder, there is stallion restriction for the Breeders Crown yearling payments that are due on May 15. For the Breeders Crown, a list of the stallions whose foals are Breeders Crown eligible for foals of 2022 (Breeders Crown #38) can be found by clicking here.

The condition for each race can be found on the Society's website on the specific race page set up for that race. In all cases only one cheque is ever necessary for each of the four payment periods (ie. Feb. 15, March 15, April 15 or May 15).
