Balmoral Park starts the week with a bang.
Players will be locked in on a one-day Pick 5 carryover of $10,104.36 that will kick off the action. The 50-cent Pick 5 wager is offered Wednesdays on races 1 thru 5. The USTA and Balmoral Park have created a $40,000 instant guaranteed pool on the Wednesday Pick 5. Post time for the first race is 8:10 Eastern, 7:10 Central and 5:10 Pacific.
The Memorial Day weekend was big business as Balmoral continued to put up big numbers on the weekends. Four Saturdays in May averaged $1,164,147 a night, an average of $89,549 per race. Sunday nights in May averaged $1,013,258 for an average of $101,325 per race.
Sister track Maywood Park has trended upwards on the weekends as well. The half mile track recorded its largest handle of the year last Friday, checking in at $1,052,364.
Friday handles at Maywood have been improving, with the four Fridays in May averaging $930,867 for an average of $71,605 per race. This is a 22 per cent increase over the Fridays in April.
