The Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society is seeking a bright individual with good communication skills to work as our full-time placement coordinator

.

 The candidate should have experience working with horses, have their own vehicle, and must be available to work evenings and weekends when required. Knowledge of the Standardbred industry is an asset. Riding experience is also considered an asset.

The position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitoring horses at foster homes, and attending when necessary
  • Processing documentation for adoptions and foster care arrangements
  • Responding to all telephone and email inquiries
  • Updating OSAS website
  • Preparing and distributing newsletter
  • Screening potential adoptive owners and foster care providers
  • Conducting site inspections of foster homes/adoptive homes
  • Inspecting horses for lamenesses, illness, and behavioural problems
  • Keeping up-to-date records on dewormings, vaccinations, guardian visits, etc.
  • Attendance at OSAS events
