The Red Mile has announced date changes for the first major Grand Circuit stakes of its 2022 meeting.

The original schedule had the Lexington oval set to race on Friday (Sept. 30), Saturday (Oct. 1) and Sunday (Oct. 2). The track will now race on Thursday (Sept. 29), Friday (Sept. 30) and Saturday (Oct. 1).

The change in dates has been approved by both the Kentucky Harness Racing Commission and the Kentucky Harness Horsemen’s Association.

Bluegrass stakes for two-year-old trotting colts and pacing fillies will now be raced on Thursday; the Bluegrass divisions for freshman pacing colts and trotting fillies will go on Friday; and the four Bluegrass stakes for three-year-olds will race on Saturday.

The schedule remains unchanged for the following week. Live harness racing will be held on Friday (Oct. 7), Saturday (Oct. 8) and Sunday (Oct. 9). The Oct. 9 card features the Kentucky Futurity, the third and final leg of the Trotting Triple Crown.
