Minnesota Harness Racing Inc. (MHRI) will be hosting it's annual meeting and awards banquet on Saturday, May 6 at Running Aces Casino, Hotel and Racetrack.
The meeting will get underway at 4 p.m. and will be followed by guest speakers, happy hour, dinner and the 2022 Minnesota divisional and county fair award presentations.
The evening will culminate with a fundraising silent auction, which will feature items and services valued at more than $4,000.
As per tradition, the 2022 Minnesota Harness Horse Of The Year will be voted on at the banquet.
This year's featured guest speaker will be Mike Tanner, Executive Vice President of the United States Trotting Association.
The 2023 Minnesota harness racing season gets underway with first races of the year being offered by MHRI at Cannon Falls on Saturday, April 29, starting at 1 p.m.
The first qualifiers at Running Aces will be conducted on Thursday, May 4, beginning at 11:30 a.m., followed by another day of racing (1 p.m.) at Cannon Falls on Friday, May 5, and the final pre-season qualifying session at Aces will take place on Tuesday, May 9 at 11:30 a.m.
The live harness racing season at Running Aces begins on Sunday, May 14.
