Truro Raceway would like to advise trainers and owners of Atlantic-Sired two-year-old pacing colts and fillies of the upcoming deadline of April 14, 2023 to purchase a slot in the Diamond Classic. Slots are $6,000 each and both the colt and filly divisions will race for a guaranteed purse of $50,000.
At present, there is one colt slot purchased and four filly slots.
"There has been a lot of interest in purchasing a slot. Many of the people indicating interest ironically have not yet purchased a slot. We remain very hopeful of selling all slots for both divisions. We are also optimistic of coming to an agreement with a Title Sponsor, which will add additional funds into the purses in both divisions, but that has not yet been finalized," commented Truro Raceway General Manager Steve Fitzsimmons.
Payments to be made to Standardbred Canada Stakes Online, with the code for the race TDC23 and you must indicate colt or filly division that you are purchasing a slot for, or by mailing to Standardbred Canada. The nomination fee must be postmarked no later than April 14, 2023. Truro Raceway recommends that if payments are being mailed, that registered mail is used and a receipt of mailing is kept.
Entry fees shall be made payable to Standardbred Canada.
