Rockin Ron, Bettors Edge Gearing Up

The Saturday night card at The Meadowlands brings a number of contentious pacing races with excellent wagering options in the multi-race guaranteed horizontal wagers.

The featured sixth race has a full field of ten talented pacers with the mile-track loving City Hall facing a pair of brutes in Rockin Ron and Bettors Edge.

City Hall at age seven is no novice having won 34 times in 143 career starts but the Meadowlands mile is where he really shines compiling 10 wins in 19 starts over the oval including a searing 1:48.2 record taken in 2015. He returned to the mile and the winner's circle a week ago after several non-descript efforts over half-mile tracks.

City Hall does lose last week's driver as Brett Miller chose off in this one, so Andy Miller gets the call for the red-hot Amber Buter barn currently clipping along at a remarkable .818 UTRS. Gene Oldford and Tyler Buter share ownership of City Hall.

Rockin Ron is back after a break for the Burke barn, coming into this one off an easy 1:53 score over at Yonkers. Bettors Edge is a familiar face having battled the very best for the past several years. He's in a new barn now and was given a few weeks off by trainer Jennifer Lappe before a powerful 1:53 qualifier and was Brett Miller's choice in here.

The lead promotion is the "Spring Break Sweepstakes" a drawing to win an airline voucher to get out of town (which with current weather conditions could not come at a better time). It all gets underway at 7:15 p.m.
