Six New Stallions For Ontario In 2022

Six new stallions will join the Standardbred ranks in Ontario in 2022, for a total of 55 registered Ontario Sires.

“The new stallions show what a world class program the Ontario Sires Stakes is. Bar none we have the best program in North America,” said Tammy McNiven, member of the Standardbred Improvement Program Committee. “They will help our stallion population by bringing in some new blood to freshen everything up.”

A ROYAL HIT: The son of million-dollar earner Royalty For Life and Kadabra mare Hit The Hay, A Royal Hit will stand for Peter Albrecht in Atwood, Ont.

BETTING LINE: Former OSS champion Betting Line returns to Ontario for his sixth season at stud. The son of top Ontario sire Bettors Delight and Heathers Western earned $2.2 million in a career that saw him triumph in the North America Cup and Little Brown Jug. He stands at Winbak Farm.

BP CHIMO: The son of Grinfromeartoear and Western Hanover mare Chimi Hanover earned $286,950 and was a three-time Gold elimination winner in his career. He stands at owner James Barton’s farm in Branchton, Ont.

BULLDOG HANOVER: The 2020 Super Final champion as a two-year-old, Bulldog Hanover took his 1:48 record in the Circle City Stakes at Hoosier Park last fall. The son of Shadow Play and Artsplace mare BJs Squall will stand at Seelster Farms.

CATTLEWASH: A five-year-old son of the legendary Somebeachsomewhere, Cattlewash joins the Tara Hills farm for his second season standing stud. A winner of $1.3 million, Cattlewash paced to a world record 1:46.4 at The Red Mile as a three-year-old.

CENTURY FARROH: A winner of $1.5 million in his four-year racing career, Century Farroh is a son of Hall of Fame sire Mach Three out of Real Desire mare Beachy Girl. He will stand at Seelster Farms.
