I agree with the part about the ORC officials apprenticing. Even more so, the UPPER MANAGEMENT at the ORC definitely needs to apprentice before any of us do.

I wonder why the ORC has decieded to implement this "apprentice "catagory with trainers only.I think they should include racing officials, race track owners and perhaps other catagories as well. The ORC wants new trainers to be mentored prior to achieving "A" status and if there are any bumps in the road "appropriate conditions are imposed".

Do Officials and racetrack owners never make mistakes? What about current "A" trainers. Is the ORC ready to downgrade this catagory to a "C" if to say perhaps a trainer was to recieve multiple positive tests in a short period of time. Once again I believe this proposal does nothing to "fix" the integrity problem that exists today, and most certainly the issues of today have not been created by "new" trainers looking to start into the business.

Good Idea, I agree, every "A" trainer should apprentice with an established trainer. I spent 18 years with Gerald Robinson. It did not do me any harm. I learned a great deal from this man. Bruce T. Winning
