Tattersalls Sales Co. reminds horsemen that entries will close Friday, Dec. 4 for the January Select Mixed Sale, to be held at the Meadowlands on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 18.
The sale is the industry’s leading winter auction and features racehorses, broodmares, stallion shares, and short yearlings.
Judging from the entries already received, sale manager David Reid said he expects another outstanding January Mixed.
“We’ll have the usual great selection of racehorses at all levels, for every track. And, as always, they’ll be very much in demand… especially for horses ready to race at the current winter meets,” Reid said.
He also noted that this sale offers the last chance for breeders looking to buy high-quality broodmares and stallion shares for this year.
“The January sale has been up significantly in each of the past several years, and I’m optimistic that trend will continue,” he said.
Last year’s January Select Mixed Sale grossed more than $6.2-million, with horses selling for up to $360,000.
