Trot Insider has learned that Breeders Crown winner Beckhams Z Tam has been retired and will stand his first commercial season at stud in 2021.

Beckhams Z Tam, a six-year-old son of Always A Virgin-Saras Lucky Charm, assembled a 17-16-17 record from 73 starts over the course of a career that saw him capture major events like the $200,000 Prix D’Ete at Hippodrome 3R and the $527,500 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Pace in front of a hometown crowd at Hoosier Park.

The star of the Indiana Sires Stakes program started his career in the barn of trainer Wilbur Eash before moving back and forth between the stables of trainers Bruce Saunders and Jamie Macomber.

Owned by Z Tam Stables LLC of New York, the career winner of $825,827 earned his speed badge of 1:49 against Invitational pacers at Hoosier Park during his four-year-old campaign.

Beckhams Z Tam, who has a small crop of yearlings this season, will stand at Royal Equine Acres in Topeka, IN for a fee of $1,500.
