Canadian co-owned trotting mare Maven will make her third start of the year in Europe to conclude her five-year-old season in Sunday's Prix de Bourgogne.
A field of 18 trotters will vie for the Prix de Bourgogne, in two tiers of nine. The first tier was drawn from the top nine seasonal earners. Maven drew post seven for driver Yannick Gingras, also making his driving debut in France.
Trained by Jimmy Takter, Maven (Glidemaster - M Stewart) is owned by John Fielding of Toronto, Ont., Herb Liverman, of Miami Beach, Fl. (by way of Montreal) and Joyce McClelland of Zanesville, Ohio. The mare prepped for her European stint with a 1:53.2 qualifier at The Meadowlands on December 13.
The Prix de Bourgogne purse is 120,000EUR or $165,000 competed at a distance of 1-5/16 miles (2,100 metres)
