On Dec. 10, 2022, longtime horseperson André Deguise of Sorel-Tracy, Que. passed away at the age of 82.
He was predeceased by his first wife, the late Gisèle Berthiaume. He is survived by his wife Murielle Martin and children: Daniel, Lyne (Alain Masson) and Marie-Claude (Sylvain Paquette); his grandchildren: Jérémy, Kim, Olivier, Virginie, Janie and Samuel; his great-grandchildren, the son of his spouse Murielle: Patrick Lafleur (Karine Fortin and her daughters Alice and Éloïse), his brothers and sisters: Marguerite (Hector Proulx), the late Gisèle (late Pierre-Yves L'Écuyer), Colette (Réjean Gladu), Yves, Raymonde (Jacques Casavant), Micheline (late Jocelyn Verville), Jean-Claude (Sylvie De Blois) and Raymond (Renée Cournoyer); his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jean-Claude Berthiaume (late Agnès Dufault) (Marie-Thérèse Cloutier), Denise Berthiaume (Gilles Tellier) and Laurin Martin (Huguette Pelletier); his nephews and nieces from the Deguise, Berthiaume and Martin families as well as several other relatives and friends.
The family of Mr. Deguise will receive condolences at the Mandeville et Mineau funeral parlor (80, rue Charlotte, Sorel-Tracy) on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 from 11 a.m. A farewell ceremony will take place at the funeral parlor the same day at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at the Saints-Anges cemetery in Sorel at a later date.
