At the Standardbred Canada Board of Directors meeting in August, a motion was tabled and approved by the Board for no fee increases to the core services that Standardbred Canada offers its members.

The motion was approved unanimously to acknowledge current market conditions and assist members in the industry during the next calendar year.

This signifies the fourth consecutive year that Standardbred Canada (SC) has opted to freeze its core fees to its members.

“The Board strongly supports a no fee increase to our members and although we are encouraged with some of the positive trending that we have seen in the industry and announcements made in recent months we still believe that it is not the time to increase membership fees,” said Joanne Colville, Standardbred Canada's Board Chair.

“During the past few months I have been travelling across the country to speak with stakeholders and customers to better understand our members concerns and the challenging economics that the industry is faced with. For the Board to provide direction to management that there is to be no fee increase in 2017 clearly underlines the Board’s commitment to assist wherever possible. At Standardbred Canada we will identify the necessary operational efficiencies to address rising inflation and CPI costs while still maintaining our excellent customer service, and focus on creating further value and assistance for our members and the industry,” said Dan Gall, SC's President and CEO.
