It was an action-packed weekend at the London Selected Yearling Sale in addition to the 291 horses that went through the auction sales ring.
Standardbred Canada (SC) coordinated three educational workshops and the Equine Expo, sponsored by Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation and Ontario Racing.
On Friday evening, Horse Ownership 101 participants learned about Fractional Ownership from LandMark Racing Stable, Ownastandardbred.com and Thestable.ca. Following the presentations and a sales pavilion tour, the guests were given a paddock tour and enjoyed racing action at The Raceway.
On Saturday and Sunday morning, sale attendees had the opportunity to learn about pedigrees and conformation at workshops presented by SC. SC’s Chair Mark Horner and Greg Gangle Manager of The Raceway, hosted Saturday’s session and Shannon Doyle, track announcer for The Raceway, partnered with Horner for Sunday’s workshop.
The Equine Expo featured 16 vendors and was open for business on Saturday and Sunday. A wide range of industry suppliers and organizations participated in the Expo.
