"It's not just a slogan people throw around. You look at a horse like Priceless who comes from Indiana, and you look at a horse like Looksgoodinaromper in the two-year-old filly pace that comes from Ohio. You have all these different states with their product sending their best, together, to see who really is the best. And that's why it really all does all come down to the Breeders Crown."

There is nothing in harness racing like the Breeders Crown series. One look at the tremendous attendance at this year's Breeders Crown press conference and post draw on Tuesday at Woodbine Mohawk Park showed the importance of this event; not just to the host track, but to the participants putting in the work to put on the show.

One of the participants that is no stranger to Breeders Crown buzz is Tony Alagna, who has three Breeders Crown victories to his credit. His Breeders Crown crystal came courtesy two-year-old colt pacer Stay Hungry (2017) and three-year-old colt pacers Captaintreacherous (2013) and Racing Hill (2016).

Over the 2019 Breeders Crown weekend, Alagna sends out eight Breeders Crown starters -- five in the two-year-old divisions on Friday and three on Saturday.

Alagna discussed the horses he hopes will add more Breeders Crown hardware to his mantle this weekend with TROT's Rachel Oenema at Tuesday's Breeders Crown post draw.

Breeders Crown finals for two-year-olds will be contested on Friday at Mohawk. The finals for three-year-olds and older horses will be showcased on Saturday. Racing will begin at 7:00 p.m. (EDT) on both nights. The Libfeld-Katz Breeding Partnership is the presenting sponsor of this year’s Breeders Crown.
