Trot Insider has learned that multiple stakes and Preferred class winning millionaire Rockin In Heaven has passed away at the age of 11 after a tragic accident.

The son of Rock N Roll Heaven-Tropics Beachgirl retired in 2022 with a summary of 40-26-24 from 193 lifetime starts with more than $1.01 million in earnings. He retired as the richest son of his sire.

Trained during his nine years of racing by Dr. Ian Moore and Teesha Symes, Rockin In Heaven competed in the Little Brown Jug, Canadian Pacing Derby, Gold Cup Invitational and Gold Cup and Saucer, while boasting major victories in the Empire Breeders Classic and Somebeachsomewhere Stakes in 2015 as a sophomore. He took his mark of 1:49.2 as a six-year-old at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Rockin In Heaven was owned by Douglas Polley of Amherst, N.S. and Gordon McComb of Paris, Ont. at the time of his passing. In limited stud duty, he's the sire of six foals racing age with three racing including the stakes-placed Brookdale Johnny.

“It's been the highlight of our lives,” said co-owner McComb in a 2021 feature on Rockin In Heaven. “He’s taken us to Delaware, New York, Florida, and all over.”
