Quebec-based horsemen enjoyed a productive Thanksgiving during a holiday matinee at Fredericton Raceway. An invader from La Belle Province treated local fans to a standout performance during the feature race

on the afternoon.

Pierre Luc Roy was in the bike as Golden Vanity stopped the timer in 1:58.2, defeating Allbentouttashape and MD Hardlys Success in the last race on a 16-dash program. The six year old stallion earned his eighth win in only 13 starts this season, making a first-over move on the outside before capturing the pacesetters just past the three quarter pole.

Golden Vanity was able to connect from the trailing number seven post position, sitting just behind Allbentouttashape and Magical Alex who battled for the early lead. The field was led past the half in a blistering :57.4. Golden Vanity earned a career best win-race record by scoring at Quebec City's half-mile oval in 1:56.4 in mid-July.

Roy earned the first half of a driving double earlier in the card, winning with Chanel Seelster in 2:03. It was the first win of the season for the eight-year-old daughter of Camluck.

Trainer, Eric Wilson earned back-to-back victories late in the program. Wilson harnessed Vic Victor to his second win of the season after surviving an objection launched by driver Dale Spence. Stephen Trites guided the 10-year-old gelding to the victory in 2:02. Wilson's second winner was piloted by Todd Trites as Woodmere Bigsplash scored in 2:01.

Todd Trites was the hottest driver on the card, earning three winners. He helped Spank Da Monkey earn a new lifetime mark of 2:02.1 and also guided Wylde Cherry to her first win of the season in 2:02.4.

Other winners were Lenore (Sam Hodgin) in 2:04.4, Blue Demon (Mark Haig) in 2:02.4, Fern Hill Treasure (Lonny Stokes) in 2:01.4, Climb The Ladder (Dale Spence) in 2:01.3, Igoddarocket (Mike Campbell) in 2:02.2, Canaco Quickset (Mark Haig) in 2:02.2, Eagle Sarah (Shawn MacLennan) in 2:00.4, Texas Treasure (Lonny Stokes) in 1:59.4, First Art Down (Steve Mason) in 2:03.3, and Woodmere Quickpeek (Scott Hubbard) in 2:00.

During Atlantic Breeders Crown action at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Sunday, Mike Stevenson drove a pair of winners in rich championship finals. Stevenson scored in the two year old pacing filly division with Pictonian Amanda in 1:57.4, and with Pictonians Souwest in the three year old colt division in 1:56.2.

Please be advised due to issues at Fredericton Raceway, results from Monday’s qualifiers and the races from their matinee program will be delayed.

Trot Insider will post a note once the results are available.

Action returns to Saint John's Exhibition Park Raceway on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The final program of the season at Fredericton Raceway is slated for Saturday, October 22 at 1 p.m.
