Charity Driving Challenge At Clinton

Published: September 9, 2010 02:19 pm EDT

Are you up for the Challenge? Next Sunday, September 19 will mark the 29th annual Charity Driver’s Challenge at

Clinton Raceway.

Clinton’s top four dash-winning drivers will suit up to battle it out on the track with four of the top drivers in Canada. Watch as Trevor Henry, Bruce Richardson, Scott Zeron, Doug McNair, Jody Jamieson, Mark MacDonald, Mario Baillargeon and Sylvain Filion take to the track to claim their fame as Clinton Raceway’s Charity Driver’s Challenge Champion! All of these talented drivers will be donating their driving fees to Central Huron Secondary Schools Challenge Day Fundraiser.

This is a second time fundraiser for CHSS' Challenge Day, held in November with all drivers donating their fees to the great community cause. Last year’s event raised over $9,000.

The day-long, interactive Challenge Day program was featured on the Oprah Show in 2006 and provides teens and adults with tools to tear down the walls of separation, and inspires participants to live, study, and work in an encouraging environment of acceptance, love, and respect.

Other events for the day will include a car wash, bake sale, 50/50 draw, Chicken BBQ, and a silent auction. Clinton Raceway is also cleaning out its fridges, freezers and coolers -- everything on the menu is half price!

The $20,000 Ray McLean Memorial Pace will also be featured and two previously qualified Trot handicapping contestants will win their place at the $25,000 championship in Barrie.

Join Clinton, along with Carol Mitchell, Ontario Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, for the chance to win 'Mitchell’s Money.' If your bankroll is higher than hers you could win a 'Good Things Grow in Ontario' gift basket! There will also be free apples at the gate.

First-race post time for Clinton's September 19 program will be 1:30 p.m.
