Earlier this summer, EquiLottery LLC announced the introduction of its new innovative horse racing and lottery game, EquiLottery. EquiLottery LLC has said that its product aims to combine the excitement of live horse racing with lottery terminals across the world.

A previous release by the company states that EquiLottery will allow lottery players to participate in the same wagering pools as horseplayers. The game has the ability to create dynamic payouts for lottery and horseplayers while keeping in line with the legislative and financial realities of international lottery corporations.

“It’s very exciting to have the opportunity to present EquiLottery to so many esteemed leaders in the Bluegrass State,” EquiLottery President & CEO Brad Cummings was quoted as saying via release. “While there are other great opportunities for our game domestically and internationally, Kentucky has always been a perfect fit as an early adopter for EquiLottery due to the importance of the horse industry and the success of the Kentucky Lottery. I would like to thank Co-Chairmen Dennis Keene and John Shickel for giving us this opportunity to get the ball rolling in our home state.”

Vision for EquiLottery in Kentucky to Be Presented at Committee Hearing Friday

As part of a special equine-focused session of the Licensing and Occupations Committee, EquiLottery President & CEO Brad Cummings has been invited to present the product structure and fiscal benefits of his new lottery game based on the results of live horse races. The open meeting, usually held at the Capitol Annex Building in Frankfort, will take place at the Old Clubhouse at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington at 10:00 am.

“It’s very exciting to have the opportunity to present EquiLottery to so many esteemed leaders in the Bluegrass State,” said Cummings.

This presentation comes as a result of the efforts of Sen. Damon Thayer and Rep. David Osborne, both members of the Licensing and Occupations Committee, in a discussion held during the committee’s July session. During the meeting, both horse industry stalwarts advocated for an integration between horse racing and the lottery.

“If there is a way that we can create an expansion that will also be a win win for both the horse industry and the lottery that expands [the Kentucky Lottery's] customer base while at the same time increases purses for the horse industry,” said Osborne on July 11 of this year, “I think it’s incumbent on us as lawmakers that that’s something we look at.”

Unveiled to the general public on July 9, EquiLottery has received significant attention across the globe, drawing interest from 26 states and provinces and across five continents. EquiLottery has generated significant support from some of the top racetracks and racing organizations in Kentucky and beyond.
