Los Ballykeelamigo Quickest In Prospect

Going wire to wire, Los Ballykeelamigo posted the quickest mile of the three $7,100 divisions of the Prospect Series Three-Year-Old Colt Trot fourth preliminary on Sunday (Sept. 6) at Flamboro Downs.

Clearing control from post 2, Los Ballykeelamigo took the field the quarter in :29.1 and endured first-over pressure from Hall Of Secrets through middle fractions of 1:00.2 and 1:30.1. Into the final turn Hall Of Secrets began to falter as Los Ballykeelamigo strolled to a three-length win in 2:00 over Ten Four We Gone. Hoya Saxa finished third.

A homebred Amigo Hall gelding for Ballykeel Racing Inc., Los Ballykeelamigo won his fourth race from 20 starts, earning $23,565. Scott Young drove the $5.00 winner for trainer Josh McKibbin.

Bathgate scored a 13-1 upset in the second division of the Prospect Series, going gate to wire in 2:00.4.

The E L Titan gelding took command from post 3 to a :29.2 first quarter with Laval Titan sitting the pocket. Bathgate led uncontested to a :59.3 half before Laval Titan pulled pocket moving for three-quarters in 1:30. However Laval Titan tired into the final turn, leaving Bathgate to stroll to a one-and-three-quarter length win over Northern Flame, who inherited the pocket and finished second. Warrawee Viking finished third another four lengths back.

Returning $29.20 to win, Bathgate won his third race from 25 starts, earning $17,292. Nick Boyd drove the winner.

LMC Hope scored in the final division, powering first over to win in 2:02.2. The Archangel gelding sat fourth while The Reins Of Titan led through fractions of :30.2 and 1:02.3. Driver Travis Henry angled LMC Hope first over moving to the backside and rolled up to match strides with the tempo setter by three-quarters in 1:32.3. In the stretch the Kyle Reibeling trainee strode to a two-length victory over The Reins Of Titan with pocket-sitter Drone Seelster third.

Owned by Loredana & Lina Cirillo, LMC Hope won his second race from 17 starts, earning $23,903. He paid $15.60 to win.
