Define The World Returns A Winner

Define The World returned from a 10-month layoff Thursday evening at Kawartha Downs, but the OSS graduate looked anything but rusty en route to posting a 1:58 score for driver Matt Bax.

The John Bax-trained Define The World took on eight foes in an $8,500 conditioned tilt at the Fraserville oval, and it didn’t take long for the seven-year-old son of Duke Of York-Venice Holiday to find the lead. He sat third through an opening quarter of :28.4, but the gelding marched first-over in front of the grandstand and quickly claimed the lead at the half in :58.3. He front-stepped past the three-quarter pole in 1:27.4 before cruising home in :30.1 to stop the clock in 1:58.

Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, Define The World won for the 33rd time in his career while increasing his overall cash stash to $1,646,239. The charismatic homebred is owned by Al Libfeld of Pickering, ON.
